Hoops Blue Spruce Tree

A striking silvery blue hue transforms your landscape The Hoops Blue Spruce Tree is truly a standout choice for anyone looking to enhance the artistry of their yard. Its stunning silvery blue color is considered one of the bluest of the Colorado Spruce cultivars, which is especially apparent on the newest needles. Imagine the contrasting backdrop of greens and browns against this vibrant, silvery hue—it adds a touch of elegance that captures the eye throughout the seasons. Beyond its visual charm, the Hoops Blue Spruce is a cold hardy tree, known for its ability to thrive in Western climates. This durable tree not only provides year-round interest with its unique color but also offers an ideal solution for evergreen screening or as a specimen plant in your garden. It grows to a manageable size, making it perfect for smaller yards without sacrificing impact. Planting & Care 1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Remove the stake and ties at planting, as these are only for shipping. Choose a location that provides full sun and well-draining soil to encourage healthy growth. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and slightly shallower than the height to ensure the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface. Spread a 3" layer of mulch 3 feet around the tree, pulling the mulch back a few inches from the trunk. 2. Watering: Water the tree deeply after planting, ensuring the soil is moist but not soggy. During the first growing season, water regularly, taking care to let the soil dry out slightly between watering. Once established, the Hoops Blue Spruce will need less frequent watering unless there's a prolonged dry spell. 3. Pruning: Minimal pruning is required for this tree, but you can shape it in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Remove any dead or diseased branches as needed to maintain its health. Regular inspections will help catch any issues early on. 4. Fertilizing: Fertilize in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer designed for evergreens. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for application rates. This ensures your tree receives essential nutrients, supporting its growth and vibrant color.
