Poster for cult classic film created in San Francisco in the early 90s by Jon Moritsugu and Jacques Boyreau. This showing happened at punk record store Epicenter Zone in June, 1991. The film lampoons affected, pretentious art students and their existential misgivings. One scene has a character roaming the courtyard of SF Art Institute, mutilating paintings. I recall as a student there seeing an open call to donate your "bad art" to be ritualistically destroyed in an indie film, presumably this one. From what I remember, the call was not successful, and Moritsugu had to create specific art for these scenes. The poster advertises an upcoming soundtrack on Matador Records with some pretty notable bands. For whatever reason, Moritsugu reneged on it at the last minute, destroying contracts and CD masters. It was never released. Measures 16" x 20". Condition is good, has corner holes, some tape, and has been repaired with archival document tape for a few tears/rips. Despite its wear, this beautiful silk-screened poster would look fantastic in your digs.
