Hippo Activity Wall Panel

The Hippo Activity Wall Panel puts three early math activities on a single lavender wooden panel shaped like a hippo. An abacus with two rows of five colorful beads sits along the body, a magnetic number maze with a corded wand runs through the numbered nodes 1 through 9 across the center, and a shape recognition panel with four colored shapes including yellow circle, orange triangle, green square, and blue rectangle to fill the right section. The cheerful hippo head with antennae eyes anchors the design and gives the whole panel an identity that children respond to warmly. Every activity targets a different early math skill. The abacus builds number sense and counting to 10. The number maze reinforces numeral recognition and sequencing while developing fine motor control through the wand mechanic. The shape panel introduces basic shape identification and color recognition. Three distinct activities, all math-focused, all on one 36-inch wall panel. Specification Detail Size 36"L x 12.75"W Activities Abacus (2 rows of 5 beads), magnetic number maze (nodes 1–9, corded wand), shape panel (circle, triangle, square, rectangle) Skills targeted Number sense to 10, numeral recognition, sequencing, shape identification, color recognition, fine motor, hand-eye coordination Recommended age 18 months and up Loose parts Yes - Geometric Shapes Mounting Wall-mounted; pre-drilled fixing holes and screws included SKU 50470 Manufacturer Learning Advantage The magnetic number maze is the activity that distinguishes this panel from standard abacus-and-shape wall toys. The numbered nodes 1 through 9 mean the maze is not just a pathfinder but a sequencing activity: children can attempt to guide the wand from node 1 through to node 9 in order, which combines fine motor control with number recognition in a single connected task. That layered challenge gives the panel staying power well into the preschool years. At 36 inches wide the panel accommodates two children engaging different activity sections simultaneously; one at the abacus while another works the maze. The wall-only format keeps the floor clear and makes it a practical choice for small classrooms, tight waiting room walls, and any space where floor area is at a premium. Where These Work Best Preschool and daycare classrooms Three early math activities on a single panel give teachers a permanent wall-mounted math station that requires no setup and no facilitation. The abacus, number maze, and shape panel align directly with Pre-K and early kindergarten math curricula - counting to 10, numeral recognition, and shape identification are foundational skills across every early childhood framework. Children use the panel during free choice and transition time, building math fluency through repeated voluntary engagement. Pediatric waiting rooms and family practice offices The panel is appropriate from 18 months up, which covers the full age range of a pediatric waiting room. Toddlers engage with the abacus beads and shape colors while preschoolers work the number maze. The hippo character and cheerful lavender palette make the panel visually inviting without being overstimulating. The corded magnetic wand stays with the panel and no loose parts means no retrieval between patients. Home playrooms and supervised play spaces Mounted at child height in a playroom or bedroom, the Hippo panel provides a permanent early math activity that grows with the child from toddler through preschool age. The abacus is engaging at 18 months; the number maze becomes meaningful at 2 to 3 years; the shape panel supports shape and color vocabulary throughout the toddler and preschool years.
