Primo Hinge and Handle Kit for Oval X-Large, Post-2015 PGHXL

This hinge and handle kit fits the Post-2015 Primo Oval X-Large and nothing else. Primo used one hinge design before 2015 and another after it, and the wrong era will not mount, which makes the age of your grill the first thing to establish and its size the second. Three parts make up the kit: the hinge, the bands and the handle. An X-Large carries a big dome, and every time you open and close it during a cook that weight runs through the hinge, while every lift puts it through the handle. Hardware on a grill this size is doing real work, which is why it eventually becomes a part you replace. When the assembly loses its tension the grill tells you. The lid drops instead of settling, or comes to rest against the base unevenly. Since a kamado only seals when the dome lands flat, that unevenness turns into a fire you cannot pin down at low temperatures. Fitting hinge, bands and handle together puts the geometry right in one pass rather than chasing it part by part. The grill this belongs to is the Primo Oval X-Large ceramic charcoal grill, sold on its own or as the Primo Oval X-Large All-In-One package. With the bands loosened you have easy access to the sealing surfaces, so it is a sensible moment to look at the Primo replacement gasket for the Oval X-Large 400 and Large 300. Everything else Primo makes for this grill is in Primo grill accessories.
