Hilltop Kemper Dahlia

Hilltop Kemper is a striking semi-cactus dahlia that commands attention with its vibrant orange-yellow flame blooms. Each flower reaches an impressive 6 inches across, displaying the characteristic spiky petals that define the semi-cactus form. This tall variety grows to 5 feet, making it an excellent choice for back-of-border placement or as a dramatic focal point in cut flower arrangements. Perfect for gardeners seeking bold color and architectural interest. How To Plant Dahlias To get your dahlias started, pick a sunny spot with soil that drains well. Dig a hole, lay the tuber flat, and cover it with soil about 3 inches deep. Hold off on watering for now. Once you spot some sprouts and a few leaves, it’s time to water, but keep it gentle to prevent root rot. It’s a smart  to put the stake next to the tuber at the same time of planting, so you don’t accidentally damage it later on. As the season goes on, give your dahlias some love with fertilizer and insect sprays to help them bloom beautifully and grow strong. In the fall, dig up the roots and store them over winter.
