High West Bourye Limited Sighting 2026 Release

Capture one of the whiskey world's most elusive creatures with the High West Bourye Limited Sighting 2026 Release. Named after the mythical "Jackalope" featured on the label, Bourye (a portmanteau of "Bourbon" and "Rye") is a masterfully crafted blend of mature straight bourbon and straight rye whiskeys. Spotting a bottle of this annual, highly allocated release in the wild is a rare treat, making it a prized addition to any top-shelf collection at Nestor Liquor. While many previous iterations of Bourye have traditionally been bottled at 92 proof, this special 2026 Release turns up the intensity, arriving at a commanding 101 Proof (50.5% ABV). This elevated proof point amplifies the rich, complex interplay between the sweet, dark-fruit notes of the bourbon and the robust, peppery spice of the rye. It is a harmonious, full-bodied pour that truly showcases High West's unparalleled blending expertise. Key Features Producer: High West Distillery (Park City, UT) Style: Blended Straight Whiskey (Bourbon & Rye) Proof: 101 Proof (50.5% ABV) Edition: 2026 Limited Sighting Tasting Notes Nose: Rich and aromatic. An inviting bouquet of sweet honey nougat, spiced marzipan, and caramelized peaches, underscored by toasted almonds. Palate: Bold and beautifully balanced. The bourbon brings deep layers of vanilla and brown sugar, which are instantly met by the rye's vibrant waves of cinnamon, clove, and candied orange peel. Finish: Long, warming, and complex. The 101 proof carries the finish beautifully, leaving a lingering trail of roasted pecan, seasoned oak, and a satisfying rye spice. Why Choose the 2026 Bourye? The Best of Both Worlds: If you are torn between the sweetness of bourbon and the spice of rye, Bourye masterfully gives you the absolute best of both in a single glass. Elevated 101 Proof: The jump to 101 proof for this release provides a thicker mouthfeel and a more robust flavor profile compared to previous years. Annual Collector's Item: As a "Limited Sighting," this batch is produced in small quantities. Once the 2026 release is gone, it won't be seen again until next year's entirely new blend.
