"Hidden in Plain Sight"

"Oracle" Series 36x36 Oil on Canvas The struggle of embracing the title "artist." The figure in the painting stands at the easel, caught between the expectations of others and the relentless self-doubt that whispers, "Are you truly an artist?" This inner dialogue is the voice of imposter syndrome, a relentless critic that blinds us from seeing our own gifts. Art, at its core, is not just about skill; it’s about the discipline to "see", to observe the interplay of light and shadow, to capture the essence of a moment. But how can we paint if we cannot see? And how can we honor our gifts if we cannot recognize them within ourselves? The background portrait echoes the conflict; a self that is both seen and unseen, a reminder that our ability to see the world around us is mirrored in how we see ourselves. The path to becoming an artist is often measured by time, with the idea that 10,000 hours of practice are required. Yet, the true journey lies in overcoming the internal barriers, acknowledging our abilities, and confidently stepping into the light as artists. I invite you to reflect on your own journey. Can you see the artist within?   NOTE : buyer will be charged any additional shipping costs in a separate invoice.
