HeyCafe HC-880 Lab Coffee Grinder

HeyCafe HC-880 LAB Commercial Shop Grinder The HC-880 LAB is what happens when a workhorse shop grinder gets a precision instrument's adjustment system. Built on the same 84mm flat burr platform and 550W motor as the HC-880, the LAB adds stepless grind adjustment — continuous, not indexed — so you can dial in to exactly where a roast needs to be, not just the nearest step. Whether it's running QC cups in the lab or filling bags on the floor, it grinds with the same consistency either way, at over 450 grams per minute. 2 Year Warranty ($299+ Value) Every HC-880 LAB sold through Coffeeionado includes a 1-year warranty covering manufacturer's defects — parts, from the date of purchase. Commercial equipment is a capital investment. If there's a defect, that's our problem to solve, not yours. Bring it to our attention and we'll handle it. Free Commercial Shipping ($89+ Value) Ships free to the continental USA. Freight, handling, and insurance are all covered — no charges added at checkout. The HC-880 LAB travels at 60 lbs gross weight, so we arrange proper freight handling to make sure it arrives without incident. For Caribbean and international orders, reach out for a custom quote. Stepless Grind Adjustment This is the upgrade that matters most on the LAB. Where indexed grinders lock you into preset positions, the HC-880 LAB moves continuously — no steps, no jumps, no settling for the closest available setting. You turn the dial and the grind size moves with it, exactly where you put it. For a roaster working across multiple origins and roast levels, or a buyer running calibration cups, that degree of control is the difference between dialing in and guessing in. Repeatable Across Sessions Stepless doesn't mean imprecise. The HC-880 LAB's adjustment mechanism is built for professional use — so once you've found the right setting for a bean, you can return to it reliably. Mark your positions, document your settings, and reproduce your results. The grinder holds its calibration under regular commercial use. 84mm Flat Hardened Steel Burrs The HC-880 LAB runs 84mm flat burrs milled from hardened steel — a larger grinding surface than what you'll find in most single-dose or prosumer machines, and a harder material than standard stainless. Larger diameter means more grinding area per revolution. Harder material means the edge geometry lasts longer before degradation affects particle uniformity. In practice: consistent grind quality over an extended service life, without the performance cliff that comes with softer burr sets. Throughput for Production Use At full speed, the HC-880 LAB grinds more than 450 grams per minute. That translates to sustained throughput of 13–16 kg per hour — enough for serious retail bag production, high-volume cupping prep, or concurrent multi-format grinding without creating a queue. It's not a machine you wait on; it keeps up with the workflow. Powder Shaker and Multi-Purpose Powder Chute The LAB includes a practical powder shaker designed to clean residual grounds from the grinding chamber between uses — an important detail when you're moving between roasts or blends and contamination matters. Combined with the multi-purpose powder chute, which features a built-in container holder, the workflow from grinding to bagging is direct and clean. The chute positions your container at the exit point so grounds go where they're supposed to — not onto the counter. Simply Removable Housing When maintenance is needed, the HC-880 LAB's housing comes off without requiring a service call. The design gives direct access to the internal components for cleaning, inspection, or burr replacement — work that can be done on-site by a competent operator. In a commercial environment, machine downtime has a cost. A grinder you can maintain yourself is a grinder that stays running. Commercial-Grade Construction The HC-880 LAB body is fabricated from heavy-duty thick metal sheet — the same construction philosophy as the base HC-880. It's built to absorb the vibration and daily use of a commercial environment without developing wobble, looseness, or structural fatigue over time. At 26 kg net weight, it stays where you put it. The all-stainless grinding chamber resists oil absorption, cleans quickly between roasts, and satisfies NSF sanitation standards for food service environments. Certified for Commercial and Food Service Use ETL, CE, and GS safety certifications. NSF and GS sanitation certifications. The HC-880 LAB meets the requirements for commercial kitchen and food service environments out of the box. Available in both 110V/60Hz (US) and 220–240V/50–60Hz configurations to accommodate different markets and electrical setups. Who Is It For? The HC-880 LAB is built for specialty coffee roasters who need precision grinding across multiple origin coffees, Q-graders and cuppers who require consistent, calibrated grind output for sensory analysis, and retail coffee shops or cafes that grind to order for bag sales. If you're moving through multiple roasts in a day, need to shift grind settings between them accurately, and want a machine that pulls maintenance without a service ticket, the LAB is the right tool. It's equally at home on a cupping table or a production floor — and it doesn't make a distinction between the two. The Brand: HeyCafe Founded in Shanghai in 2006, HeyCafé made history as the first company in China to design and manufacture coffee grinders. Their mission has always been simple: commercial-grade grinding performance without the commercial price tag. In 2016, HeyCafé joined the Hemro Group — the conglomerate behind Mahlkönig and Baratza — gaining access to German-engineered burr technology while keeping their grinders accessible and affordable. Now selling in over 50 countries, HeyCafé offers a full range of espresso and shop grinders built for startups, growing cafés, and entrepreneurial baristas who refuse to compromise on consistency.
