Heuchera 'Obsidian' Coral Bells

These shiny dark, nearly-black leaves have slight undertones of purple and maroon. Heuchera 'Obsidian' coral bells is a bold perennial for shady borders and container arrangements alike. To make this licorice-look-alike even sweeter, in summer the plant becomes topped with tall scapes of tiny white bellflowers that contrast the foliage and attract pollinators. Commonly called "coral bells," Heuchera is one of the easiest perennials to grow. Plant 'Obsidian' in moist, well-drained soil, and remove dead foliage when necessary. While it can handle more sun in northern climates, it must have afternoon shade in the south.
