Hetz Midget Globe Arborvitae

Hetz Midget Arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis 'Hetz Midget') is a compact, globe-shaped evergreen shrub prized for its dense foliage, fine texture, and year-round color. This dwarf variety maintains a naturally rounded form without the need for regular pruning, making it an ideal choice for low-maintenance landscapes. Its soft, scale-like foliage is rich green throughout the year and turns a slightly bronze hue in winter, adding subtle seasonal interest to any garden. Perfect for foundation plantings, rock gardens, borders, and formal landscapes, Hetz Midget Arborvitae fits beautifully into both traditional and modern designs. Reaching only 2 to 3 feet tall and wide, it is also a great candidate for container gardens and small-space landscapes where space is limited but structure is desired. Its symmetrical growth habit brings balance and neatness to planting schemes, especially when used in groupings or along walkways. Cold-hardy and tolerant of a wide range of soil conditions, Hetz Midget Arborvitae thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil. This shrub is an excellent choice for gardeners seeking a tidy evergreen that adds lasting beauty without constant maintenance. Whether used as a formal accent or a year-round backdrop for flowering perennials, Hetz Midget provides lasting color and reliable structure to your landscape.
