Frequently Asked Questions about Herringbone Pearl White Thassos Marble and Shell Tile: Q: Can I install Pearl White Thassos Marble and Shell Tile behind my stove? What happens if it gets splattered with sauce or grease? A: You absolutely can install this tile on your backsplash and behind your cooktop! We always recommend wiping up spills and splashes as they happen to keep your tiles and grout as pristine as possible. Q: How do I clean a shell and white marble tile to avoid stains? A: For daily cleaning, or cleaning up after cooking, we recommend using a water-based, alkaline tile cleaner to keep your white kitchen backsplash pristine. Shell is a non-porous material, so it can be easily wiped clean of even bright red tomato sauce! Q: How can I be sure this tile will look white and beautiful over time? A: While the Thassos white marble is a relatively porous material, you can apply a penetrating sealer that will fill up the small pores in the stone and keep it from absorbing stains! Tile Club Recommends reapplying your sealer once a year or so to keep your white marble tiles protected. Q: Where can I install this tile? A: Tile Club recommends installing this beautiful white marble and pearl tile on indoor walls and floors! Despite the delicate beauty of the materials, this mosaic tile is made of durable materials - shell is thin but strong enough for a residential, low-traffic floor! You can create a dazzling backsplash, fireplace surround, bathroom floor (those grout lines add grip!), shower enclosure and even a white marble shower floor! *Natural stone tiles may display variations in color, finish, strength, and slip resistance. White marble may contain naturally occurring iron deposits that can lead to discoloration if used in areas prone to wet or damp, or if exposed to harsh chemical cleaners. As this is an inherent feature of the material, Tile Club does not assume responsibility for discoloration of marble or other natural stone tiles. To ensure you enjoy your white marble tiles for years to come, we recommend installing them in areas that are not prone to standing water, and regularly applying a marble tile sealer to help prevent stains and discoloration of your grout.
