DIMENSIONS – 195 mm (7.5 inches) × 40 mm (1.6 inches) stropping surfaces, 310 mm (13 inches) overall length PACKAGING - laminated cardboard storage box Since 1919, HEROLD has specialized in making strops and hanging straps designed to keep straight razors in top condition. Built in Germany with carefully selected cowhide or  Rindleder vs. Juchtenleder – What’s the Difference? Rindleder (cowhide leather): The standard choice for most strops. It’s firm, smooth, and reliable for daily razor maintenance. Cowhide offers a consistent draw and is cost-effective, making it a great all-around option for beginners and experienced shavers alike. Juchtenleder (Russian-tanned leather): A more traditional, premium leather. It goes through a special vegetable pit-tanning process with willow bark and is treated with birch oil. This gives it a distinctive softness, durability, and water resistance. Juchtenleder has a slightly richer feel and often provides a smoother, more refined stropping experience. In short: Rindleder = dependable everyday performance. Juchtenleder = higher-end, softer, longer-lasting, with a touch of tradition. HEROLD strops – quality German craftsmanship you can count on.
