Heritage Hard Red Wheat Berries

Heritage Hard Red Wheat Berries (Turkey Red) Grown with care. Rooted in history. There’s wheat—and then there’s Turkey Red. Our Heritage Hard Red Wheat Berries come from a centuries-old varietal known for its deep flavor, robust nutrition, and extraordinary milling quality. Grown 100% organically without the use of any chemicals on our own family-owned farms, these raw, unprocessed berries are the purest form of wheat—just as nature intended and history remembered. Why You’ll Love It These aren’t your average wheat berries. Turkey Red is a hard red winter wheat brought to the U.S. by Mennonite farmers in the 1800s—and we’re still growing it the way they did: with intention, without shortcuts, and always organically. It thrives in our regenerative soil, producing berries that are: More Flavorful: Rich, nutty, and slightly sweet, with notes of caramel and toasted grain. You’ll taste the difference whether you’re baking sourdough, crafting fresh pasta, or simmering a hearty grain bowl. More Nutrient-Dense: With higher levels of protein, fiber, and essential minerals than modern commodity wheat, our heritage wheat nourishes deeply and digests more easily. Perfect for Home Milling: Hard and dry, these berries store beautifully and mill like a dream. Turn your kitchen into a stone-ground millhouse and unlock a fresh flour flavor that’s alive with aroma and texture. How to Use It Mill It: Grind into fresh flour for bread, pizza dough, muffins, or pancakes that actually taste like wheat—not filler. Cook It: Boil and serve whole in grain salads, soups, or as a chewy, rustic side dish. Sprout It: Add sprouted berries to loaves or blend into smoothies for a burst of vitality. Grown By Us We don’t just sell this wheat—we grow it. Right here on our farms using organic, regenerative methods that restore the land and respect the grain. There’s no middleman, no mystery, no synthetic anything. Just clean, honest wheat from our soil to your bowl.
