The Herbal Lining ™

KINKARACO ® has created an exclusive aromatic herbal/floral insert for burial and cremation shrouds . Flowers and herbs are hand quilted into 100% cotton batting and covered with a fine 100% cotton net. This herbal lining piece completely  lines the interior of the shroud underneath the body and is not just  a small added "sachet".  All of these herbs and flowers have historic and cultural funereal use with purification in shrouding or “the winding of the sheet” as it was known in antiquity: A truly cultural, historical and 100 % biodegradable offering of great beauty to give back to the Earth in gratitude for having had Life…..  “A fair and happy milkmaid’s only care is that she may pass in the Spring time to have a store of flowers stuck within her winding sheet”…………..  “Another important step in the preparation of the corpse for burial involving the use of herbs and flowers, wrapping the body first in linen, muslin or wool with the herb and flowers tucked within the winding sheet.”  “Preparation of the Dead” manual London,England 1584 NOT SOLD SEPARATELY - MADE TO ORDER - REQUIRE 1 WEEK TO MAKE Must be accompanied with a shroud order.
