Hens and Chicks Sempervivum (6-Packs)

Our Hens and Chicks Sempervivum (6 Pack) is a vibrant, low-maintenance succulent collection perfect for gardeners and plant lovers of all skill levels. Each six-pack contains a hand-selected mix of different Sempervivum varieties, offering a stunning range of textures, rosette shapes, and seasonal color shifts. Because each set is unique, no two orders are exactly alike, making this a fun and exciting way to grow your collection or add variety to your garden.  Sempervivum, commonly known as Hens and Chicks, is beloved for their rosette-forming growth habit, where the "hen" is the central rosette, and the "chicks" are the offsets that grow around it. These offsets spread over time, forming a beautiful, ever-expanding mat of succulents. With this 6-pack, you can expect a delightful mix of colors—ranging from lime green and soft pinks to deep purples and ruby reds—depending on the season and the cultivars included.  These hardy succulents are perfect for rock gardens, container arrangements, vertical walls, borders, and even green roofs. Their low-growing nature and drought resistance make them especially ideal for xeriscapes or sunny spots where water conservation is a priority. When planted together, the variation in foliage color and form creates a tapestry-like effect, turning any space into a living mosaic of texture and contrast. How to Care for Hens and Chicks Sempervivum Plants  Soil: The Sempervivum hens and chicks plants thrive in well-draining succulent soil. Water: They require infrequent watering—let the soil dry out completely between waterings to prevent rot. Fertilizer: No fertilizer is necessary, but a light feeding once a year in spring can encourage vibrant growth. Outdoor temperature & light: Plant them in full sun to partial shade to get the richest coloration. Sempervivums are extremely cold-hardy and do well outdoors year-round in USDA Zones 3–9. Indoor temperature & light: They prefer bright light, ideally placed near a sunny window for at least 4-6 hours a day with minimal temperature (60–75°F). These plants are resilient to temperature swings and can tolerate frost and snow, going dormant in colder months and bouncing back in spring with renewed color and vigor. Pruning: Minimal pruning is required—simply remove spent rosettes or dried leaves to keep your Sempervivum hens and chicks plants tidy.
