Hello, Chinese for Elementary Workbook 8

Grade 4 - Volume 2. The series of books was designed for US elementary school students who are learning Chinese as beginners.  The design and compilation concepts of Hello Chinese are mainly based on the teaching philosophy stated in Standards for Foreign Language learning in the 21st Century and ACTFL's Performance Guidelines for K-12 Learners. Hello Chinese highlights "5C", namely: Communication, Cultures, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities. 本套小学教材主要为美国1—5年级从零开始系统学习汉语的全日制小学生编写，亦适用于美国其他小学年龄段系统学习汉语的学生。 其设计和编写理念主要依据《21世纪全美外语学习目标》（Standards for Foreign Language Learning in the 21st Century）中提出的外语教学理念以及全美外语教学学会（ACTFL）据此提出的5C标准。 The workbooks are written for the use of the textbooks for different grades. The workbooks for Grades 1-2 include six parts, namely "Coloring", "Listening", "Character Learning", "Writing", "Singing", and "Role Play". Those for Grades 3-5 omit "Coloring" while the rest remains. "Coloring" familiarizes students with the strokes and structures of the new characters. "Listening" reinforces the key and difficult points of the texts through two exercises: true or false and single choice questions. See the teacher's books for the transcripts and keys to the listening exercises. "Character Learning" includes the exercises, such as matching, forming words, Bingo game and forming characters, which help students review pronunciations, meanings, and structures of the new words. "Writing" helps students practice writing characters. "Singing", by means of music, familiarizes students with the texts and the related topics, characters, grammar, language functions, and so on. The activity of "Role Play" engages students in props making and mini-plays to act out the text or a similar scenario. This section is placed at the book’s conclusion for easy removal. Paperback, Simplified Chinese characters, Pinyin, and English, 78 pages.
