Heami Lee Raised Cake Stand

Based in Seoul, South Korea, ceramicist Heami Lee handcrafts elegant and glossy porcelain pieces painted with gold rim or silver. In order to make her Silver Line series, Lee first fires the porcelain piece and then paints it with silver with a brush and fires again at a high temperature. The artisan repeats this process three or four times until she achieves the clear silver color and shimmering effect that she desires. The gleam of the silver may change over time, part of silver’s natural process. Care Instructions: Hand wash only. Use a soft scrubber to clean and dry thoroughly. Because it is pure silver, sulfation occurs naturally. Each piece is individually handmade, and natural variations in color, texture, and finish are to be expected and celebrated.
