Hazelnut Syrup

Hazelnut is the coffee-shop classic for a reason — that toasty, slightly sweet, nutty depth is what turns a basic latte into a treat. Ours captures the warm, roasted hazelnut character coffee shops have built their menus on, sweetened with pure cane sugar, ready to make you wonder why you've been paying $7 for a barista to do it. Stir half an ounce into an iced oat latte and you've made the easiest drink upgrade of your week. Add it to a cortado for a less-sweet, more-elegant version of the same idea. Whip it into cold foam for the kind of layered drink coffee influencers spend ten minutes filming. Or splash it into hot chocolate when you want something cozy with depth. Tasting Notes: warm toasted hazelnut, soft brown butter, hint of cocoa, smooth nutty finish The Short Version: A coffee-shop-grade hazelnut syrup made with pure cane sugar — barista-quality nutty depth designed for lattes, cold brews, and cold foam. Best Enjoyed In: Hot or iced hazelnut lattes (½ oz syrup + espresso + steamed milk), hazelnut cold brews, hazelnut cold foam (½ oz + heavy cream, frothed), hot chocolate, or stirred into drip coffee. The Portland Syrups Promise: Ethically sourced, carefully brewed, and bottled in glass jars right here in SE Portland, Oregon. Frequently Asked Questions Q: How long does the syrup last after opening? A: Our syrups are shelf-stable for 24 months unopened. Once opened, refrigerate and enjoy within 6 months. Q: How strong is the hazelnut flavor? A: Coffee-shop strong but balanced. The flavor is unmistakably hazelnut — warm, toasty, slightly nutty — but not so concentrated that it overwhelms the coffee underneath. A half-ounce in a 12-oz latte adds clear hazelnut character without burying the espresso. If you want a more intense hazelnut presence, scale up to ¾ oz. Q: Is the Hazelnut syrup overly sweet? A: Less sweet than commercial coffee-shop pump syrups. Because we use pure cane sugar instead of corn syrup or high-fructose sweetener, the flavor reads more rounded and toasty than candy-sweet. A half-ounce is usually plenty for a 12-oz latte.
