Yes. With its 48-inch vertical interior height, the MM-4814-E is specifically engineered to accommodate rifles, shotguns, and long firearms alongside handguns, ammo, and personal valuables. How is the MM-4814-E installed into a wall? The safe is designed to fit between standard 16-inch on-center wall studs. Simply cut out a 48-inch tall drywall opening between two studs, insert the vault body into the wall cavity, and secure it firmly into the wooden studs using lag bolts through the side mounting holes. How can a 48-inch wall safe be hidden or concealed? Because the unit fits flush against the drywall flange, it can be easily hidden behind a full-length dressing mirror, large hanging art, sliding wardrobe doors, or inside a bedroom closet for complete stealth. What happens if the electronic keypad battery dies? Your programmed PIN code is preserved in non-volatile memory even if the battery runs out completely. Replace the battery on the keypad housing or use the emergency key override to access the safe. What are the exterior dimensions of the Hayman MM-4814-E? The MM-4814-E measures 48" (H) x 14" (W) x 4" (D), giving it a tall vertical profile that fits within a standard 16" on-center wall stud cavity while providing enough interior height for long guns. Does the MM-4814-E include adjustable shelving for organizing gear? Yes. The safe includes adjustable and removable interior shelving along with specialized long-gun mounting options, so you can configure the interior for rifles, shotguns, handguns, ammo, jewelry, and cash. Is the Hayman MM-4814-E fireproof? No. As with other recessed wall safes, the MM-4814-E's wall-cavity mounting depth doesn't allow for fire-rated insulation. Pair it with fire-resistant document bags or a dedicated floor safe if fire protection is a priority. How does the MM-4814-E protect its contents against prying and cutting attacks? The MM-4814-E combines a heavy-gauge solid steel plate door and formed body with internal concealed hinges that defend against cut-off attempts, plus active steel locking bolts that lock tightly into the frame. What kind of warranty comes with the MM-4814-E? The MM-4814-E is backed by a 1-year parts and labor warranty covering manufacturer defects. Is there a backup way to open the MM-4814-E if the electronic keypad malfunctions? Yes. In addition to the programmable electronic PIN keypad, the MM-4814-E offers key backup capability for emergency entry if the keypad ever malfunctions or the battery fails.
