HayDay Orange Sneezeweed

HayDay Orange Sneezeweed (Helenium autumnale 'HayDay Orange')HayDay Orange Sneezeweed delivers a long run of warm, sunset-toned color when summer beds need fresh energy. Its compact size makes it easy to use in smaller gardens, tight borders, and containers without sacrificing impact. The flowers sit above the foliage on well-branched stems, so the plant reads full and finished from the start of bloom through fall. If you want reliable late-season color that also supports pollinators, this is a strong choice. Distinctive FeaturesThis cultivar produces daisy-like flowers in orange to apricot tones, often with a deeper central disk, creating a lively, glowing effect in the landscape. Compared to taller sneezeweeds, it stays nicely controlled, forming a compact, upright mound with dense branching and lots of blooms. Flowering typically spans summer into fall, giving you color during the transition when many perennials slow down. The overall look is cheerful and crisp, with flowers held in a canopy above clean green foliage. Growing Conditions Sun: Full sun for the best flowering and strongest, most compact growth. Soil: Well-drained soil that stays moderately fertile, avoid consistently soggy sites. Water: Water regularly during establishment, then provide moderate moisture and supplemental watering during prolonged drought. USDA Zones: 5 to 9. Mature Size: About 14 to 18 inches tall and 14 to 18 inches wide. Ideal Uses Focal Point: Plant a tight cluster in a decorative pot or at the front of a border to create a concentrated burst of orange color from summer into fall. Containers: Use in patio planters for a compact, flower-forward centerpiece with strong seasonal staying power. Border Front: Place along bed edges where its controlled height keeps sightlines clean while adding late-season bloom. Pollinator Beds: Pair with asters, salvias, and ornamental grasses to keep bees and butterflies active late in the year. Cut Flowers: Harvest stems for warm-toned arrangements with good presence and a garden-fresh feel. Low Maintenance Care Deadheading: Remove spent flowers to keep the plant tidy and encourage continued blooming. Watering: Do not let newly planted clumps dry out, then water during extended heat or drought to maintain vigor. Pinching: Pinch stems in late spring if you want an even bushier plant with more flowering stems. Division: Divide clumps every few years to refresh growth and maintain dense flowering. Cleanup: Cut back stems in late fall or late winter before new growth starts. Why Choose HayDay Orange Sneezeweed?
