Hawthorn Plus

Supports the cardiovascular system and healthy circulation & venous integrity.* About Hawthorn Plus: Hawthorn speaks to the human heart, and shares a botanical family with the most well known heart-herb of all, Rose. The Rosaceae family also houses apples, almonds, raspberries, and plums. These foods all deeply support the cardiovascular system. As an herb, Hawthorn is food-like in nature and rich in flavonoids, not unlike blueberries. And can be included daily for someone seeking long-term, or short-term, cardiovascular support. Hawthorn supports healthy heart muscle function, overall circulation, and cognitive function. This potent blend of leaf, flower, and berry is prepared fresh from Biodynamic® nurtured trees who offer the courage to stand upright and live with a warm, steady, and open heart. Hawthorn Plus helps to comfort us when we feel vulnerable, tender hearted, or grief-stricken. Hawthorn’s energy encourages us to care thoughtfully for ourselves, our relationship with others, and the greater landscape of life. Assisting to calm and settle the emotional heart, lessen grief and irritation, and ease us into deeper rest and restoration as needed.  A wonderful herb for children and adults alike, Hawthorn is an ideal accompaniment to the Mediterranean diet.  Garden Notes: This special blend of Hawthorn flowers, leaves, and berries, is gathered by hand on our farm. Having the three plant parts concentrated together, while fresh, makes this extract particularly effective and vibrant. A large Hawthorn hedgerow of the long-lived trees surrounds the sanctuary garden on our Biodynamic farm. In June, we hand harvest the white flowers, beloved by honey bees, and tincture them immediately in organic alcohol. In October, with the help of long pruning poles, we collect baskets full of red Hawthorn berries, which are tinctured immediately in organic alcohol. When to reach for it: Consider daily use for a period of time to support the heart (physical and emotional), nervous system, and mood. This herb is considered a wonderful long-term tonic for those who may have family members desiring to support their heart health and maintain blood pressure already within a healthy range. A good ally for travel, weddings, funerals, and other rites of passage. Delightful paired with Lemon Balm to encourage focus and concentration.
