Hawaiian Salt 6-Pack

Nature and humanity brought together, raw and mirthful Traveling across thousands upon thousands of miles of open ocean to the northeast, the trade winds carry a force that is both gentle and irresistible. You can feel the vitality of nature in that wind, in its play across the waves riding the deep currents of the sea, the slow arc of the sun overhead, the turning of the earth itself, a blue marble in the vast spiraling ocean of the galaxy. The salts of Hawaii bear within them the story of the first Polynesian explorers, unimaginably brave and capable, launching their va‘a from the Marquesas Islands in a quest for discovery some 1,500 years before. These salts are the embodiment of hundreds of years of tradition as salt was made at a household level, the cornerstone of trade and wealth and stability for the Hawaiian people. These salts tell stories lost to time, and stories very much alive today. Hawaiian salts give us nature and humanity brought together, raw and mirthful, a story you are invited to discover and enjoy. This set includes six cork top 1.2oz by volume jars of salt: Molokai Red - This sea salt underscores the importance of water source and the saltmaker's craft. Seawater sourced from the ultra pure waters around Molokai are solar evaporated and combined with red Alaea volcanic clay to achieve an ultra mineral-rich sea salt with the clear, refreshing flavor of deep Pacific waters. The salt is used in Hawaii for both seasoning and preserving foods. Hawaiians believe that the baked Alaea clay, which is composed of over 80 minerals, provides a variety of benefits, with detoxifying and healing powers. While the salt has also been used historically for ceremonial purposes such as blessing and purifying sea-going canoes, it also works wonders on seafood, pork, and fruit salads, and can be ground to produce a glinting blend of white and red color. Rose Pearl - A coarse, jumble of dry crystals and buttery, rich flavor that adds drama and complexity to food, especially fish, meats, and fruits. Harvested from the pristine waters of Molokai in Hawaii, Rose Pearl is an ultra premium sea salt produced with the utmost care and attention, yielding a red salt that adds visual drama and superb flavor to food. Sea salt crystals are infused with sacred Alaea clay, a naturally occurring, mineral-rich Hawaiian volcanic clay. Sprinkle with wild abandon on poached cod with lemon and olive oil, watermelon, feta and mint salad, rice pilaf with herbs, pasta primavera, eggplant parmesan, or homemade brown butter chocolate chip cookies. This salt also makes a statement on the rim of a mezcal margarita! One of our favorite ways to enjoy Rose Pearl Salt is sprinkled on top of lemon sorbet or pistachio gelato. Bonus: This salt would be fantastic in a grinder, as it's inherently a very dry salt! Certified organic, bamboo leaf extract is abundant in amino acids, antioxidants, and vitamins. It has been used by people in Southern China for thousands of years in teas as a health aid, research indicates that its use may account for the longevity of these people as well. Kiawe Smoked Sea Salt - A coarse, jumble of dry crystals and smoky flavor that adds drama and complexity to food, especially fish, meats, and fruits. Haleakala Ruby Sea Salt - A coarse jumble of moist crystals and butter-rich flavor that adds drama and complexity to food, especially fish, pork, and fruits. Harvested from the pristine waters of Molokai in Hawaii, Haleakala Ruby is an ultra premium sea salt produced with the utmost care and attention, yielding a red salt that is rich yet delicate, with a smooth, balanced finish. The bright, deep, meaty red color of the salt comes from the addition of alaea volcanic clay. This type of red salt is held sacred in native Hawaiian culture. Under the careful supervision of the SaltMasters Guild of Hawaii, Haleakala Ruby is made from the purest waters off the Molokai coast that are evaporated naturally under the Hawaiian sun with a proprietary sealed process, yielding a luxurious and nutritious sea salt rich with natural elements. Kilauea Onyx Sea Salt - Kilauea Onyx sea salt has a deep obsidian black color and moist, silky texture.
