Harrison Julep Strainer Silver | Viski® | Barsonist

For the home bartender who stirs their Manhattans and Negronis over a mixing glass and expects a clean, sediment-free pour every time, the Viski Harrison Julep Strainer delivers the control and reliability that separates a considered cocktail from a careless one. Construction Built from 304-grade stainless steel with a silver finish, this strainer is made to the same material standard you find behind serious cocktail bars. The oval perforated bowl is sized to sit securely across the rim of a mixing glass without wobbling or shifting mid-pour. The perforations are precisely spaced to catch herb fragments, fruit seeds, and ice shards without slowing the flow of the drink. The rounded handle is weighted and contoured so your fingers wrap around it naturally, whether you are straining a single cocktail or running service for a full dinner party. This is a tool that feels deliberate in the hand, not flimsy. Performance A julep strainer is the professional choice for stirred cocktails poured from a mixing glass. Where a Hawthorne strainer handles shaken drinks with its coiled spring, the julep's perforated bowl gives you a cleaner, quieter strain that keeps the texture of a properly diluted stirred cocktail intact. The Harrison sits flush against the glass at the right angle so liquid flows in a controlled stream directly into your coupe or rocks glass. Drainage is fast and thorough, and the finish means nothing clings to the steel between uses. Who This Is For This strainer belongs in the kit of anyone who takes stirred cocktails seriously. If you are building Old Fashioneds, Martinis, Vieux Carrés, or any stirred spirit-forward drink, this is your primary straining tool. It also serves beautifully when straining fresh-pressed citrus or cold brew directly from a vessel. Pair it with a Yarai or crystal mixing glass for a bar setup that looks and performs at a professional level. Hosts who entertain regularly will appreciate that it keeps up drink after drink without fatigue. If you are searching for the best julep strainer for a home bar, this Viski Harrison strainer is a strong answer. It fits standard mixing glasses, drains cleanly, and handles stirred cocktails like a Martini or Manhattan without the coil-spring interference of a Hawthorne. It is the right tool whenever your cocktail starts in a mixing glass rather than a shaker tin. The Viski Harrison Julep Strainer is a 304 stainless steel perforated bowl strainer with a silver finish, designed for use with standard mixing glasses and bar glasses. It is suited to stirred cocktails, cold liquid straining, and light filtration of small particulates including seeds and herb fragments. The oval bowl design follows traditional julep strainer proportions used in professional cocktail service. Selected for Barsonist because it brings professional-grade julep straining to the home bar with the build quality to match, in a finish that looks as considered as the cocktails it helps produce.
