Grip you can trust A subtly textured, non-slip top helps reduce sliding in Down Dog, lunges, and twists, so you can focus on breath and alignment instead of readjusting your stance. Wipe with mild soap and water, then let it air-dry completely before rolling—simple. For occasional deep cleaning, see the expert method below. Harvard Health highlights yoga’s benefits for flexibility, strength, back comfort, and stress reduction—perfect reasons to keep your mat close and your routine consistent. Harvard Health Care & cleaning (fast + effective) Daily upkeep is quick: wipe with a damp cloth and a drop of mild dish soap; let it air-dry fully before rolling to avoid trapped moisture. For a periodic deep clean, REI’s step-by-step guide recommends a short lukewarm soak + light scrub + thorough rinse, followed by a complete air-dry until moisture-free. Yune Yoga Frequently asked questions Is 6 mm too thick for balance work? Not for most practitioners. A 6 mm mat balances comfort and stability: it softens pressure on joints yet still lets you feel the floor. If you prefer maximum ground feel, consider thinner; if your knees are sensitive, you’ll appreciate 6 mm. (Using a towel in hot classes can also improve traction and hygiene.) REI How should I clean it after a sweaty class? Wipe it down immediately, then air-dry completely. For deeper refreshes, follow REI’s soak-and-rinse method or use a 1:4 vinegar/witch hazel spray between sessions. REI+1 What is the mat made of? The Harper Yoga Mat uses PER that’s phthalate-free, latex-free, and heavy-metal-free, and it’s digitally printed with UV-cured inks for durable color.
