Details Hen Saddle feathers are ideal for tying soft hackle flies. These flies imitate emerging insects or small baitfish, and the soft fibers of the hen feathers provide natural movement and lifelike appearance underwater. Tie in the Hen Saddle feather by the tip and wrap it around the hook shank as a collar. Experiment with different colors and sizes to match the hatch or the prey species in your fishing area.
