Details Brass eyes add weight to the fly, which helps it sink quickly to the desired depth in the water column. This is particularly useful when fishing in deeper waters or fast-moving currents where flies need to reach fish holding deeper in the water. The placement of brass eyes on the hook shank or near the hook eye helps create a balanced fly that maintains its orientation during the retrieve, offering a more natural presentation to fish.
