Hare’s Ear Flashback (Bead Head)

Few flies have earned a permanent place in fly boxes like the Hare's Ear. The Flashback Hare's Ear takes that proven fish-catching profile and adds a reflective wing case that mimics the natural sheen of emerging aquatic insects. Tied with buggy hare's ear dubbing, durable ribbing, a flashy wing case, and a bead head for added weight, this pattern consistently produces trout, panfish, and other freshwater species in rivers, streams, and lakes. Whether you're matching mayfly nymphs, caddis larvae, or simply searching for active fish, the Flashback Hare's Ear remains one of the most versatile nymph patterns ever created. Fish it under an indicator, as part of a Euro-nymph rig, or as a dropper beneath a dry fly.
