PRODUCT DETAILS Textile Origin Story: Several years back I became involved in the business of Aquaponics. Our company built a greenhouse to grow food sustainably using fish waist as fertilizer. The system is on a loop that connects deep water plant beds with the fishtanks. It is almost miraculous how quickly the plants spring up! They are lush and delicious. I wanted to find a way to contribute to this beautiful facility we built and I ended up painting a mural. The piece had my characteristically surreal touch to it and a very rich color palette. I decided to paint a suspended tree with a root ball. A pair of Koi presented in a yin and yang composition and were the life force of the tree; a representation of what we were doing.
