Inspired by Japanese Sakiori textiles, this table runner is handwoven using torn strips of hand-dyed batik fabrics. The fabric is dyed, rather than printed, making the runner reversible. Sakiori is a tradition of creating new handwoven fabric from old textiles by tearing them into strips. The tightly beaten batik fabric alternates with rows of yarn, and the same yarn is used in the warp.
