Half Caff Kaldi

Half Caff Kaldi from St. Louis roaster Kaldi's Coffee answers the question coffee lovers have been asking for decades: why should reducing caffeine mean reducing flavor? This thoughtfully constructed blend pairs 50% of their signature Cafe Kaldi decaf with 50% fully caffeinated beans, creating a cup that maintains the deep chocolatey richness and bright sweetness of a full-strength coffee while delivering just enough caffeine to satisfy without overstimulating. Tasting NotesExpect pronounced chocolate notes anchored by a sturdy, full body that defies the thin reputation of many half-caf offerings. The sweetness comes through brilliantly—think brown sugar and caramel—with a clean, lingering finish that invites another sip. The acidity is balanced and gentle, making this an approachable cup morning or night. With milk or cream, those chocolate notes deepen into something almost dessert-like, while the natural sweetness cuts through beautifully in cold brew applications. Brew MethodsHalf Caff Kaldi shines across nearly every brewing method. As drip coffee or pour over, it delivers clarity and sweetness with none of the flatness that plagues some decaf blends. In a French press, the body becomes luxuriously round and coating. But where this coffee truly excels is as cold brew concentrate—the extended steep time amplifies the chocolate and caramel character, creating a concentrate that's sweet, creamy, and endlessly versatile. It also pulls surprisingly well as espresso for those who want an afternoon cappuccino without the evening jitters.
