Haha 1st Issue 2nd Printing Image Comics 2021 W. Maxwell Prince Vanesa Del Rey

Haha 1st Issue 2nd Printing from Image Comics brings W. Maxwell Prince’s razor-sharp, genre-blending storytelling to the carnival again. This 28-page, full-color one-shot collection uses the clown figure to dissect joy, fear, and the jokes that fail to land — with Prince’s signature throat-lumpingly funny and unsettling tone that fans crave. Written by W. Maxwell Prince and featuring art and cover by Vanesa R. Del Rey, this edition expands the lineup with collaborations from some of the industry’s most acclaimed artists. Expect visuals that swing between eerie and exuberant, as Del Rey’s expressive linework anchors a range of moods, from eerie quiet to riotous mischief. Notable guest pieces from Gabriel Walta and Roger Langridge (among others) broaden the palette while keeping the core sensibility: the fool’s life is a lens on the human condition, and the laughter often comes with a sting. What makes Haha 1st Issue 2nd Printing stand out Anthology approach, long after the punchline: A collection of self-contained stories that explore the sad, scary, and funny side of those who get paid to play the fool — but aren’t your typical jokers. Rotating artistic voices: A curated lineup that includes Vanesa Del Rey (Redlands) on art and cover duties, complemented by voices from Gabriel Walta (Vision) and Roger Langridge (Thor), among others — delivering varied textures and emotions within a single issue. Premium short-form storytelling: Each tale is crafted to land in a single sitting, offering punchy setups, memorable visuals, and a satisfying, often unsettling payoff. Limited, collectible format: 28 pages of dense color-packed storytelling in a second-printing run, ideal for collectors who want to amplify a fearlessly comic-carnival shelf. Clear, mature tone: Rated M for readers who lean into darker humor and more mature themes, making it a standout pick for adult readers seeking something boundary-pushing. Who should read this? Perfect for fans of literary horror, dark comedy, and character-driven humor, Haha appeals to readers who love one-and-done stories that linger after the last page. It’s an ideal entry point for new readers curious about Prince’s distinctive voice and Del Rey’s bold, expressive art, as well as seasoned collectors who chase cross-artist collaborations and limited print runs. If you enjoy stories that pull back the curtain on showbiz innocence and laugh-through-tears moments, this is your ride. Why this edition matters This 2nd Printing preserves the original 28-page, full-color experience and expands the conversation around the series’ aesthetic and thematic scope. The collaboration between Prince’s compact, high-contrast storytelling and Del Rey’s cinematic, sometimes surreal visuals creates a mood that’s equal parts claustrophobic and carnival-wide — a combination that’s hard to find in other contemporary anthologies.
