FRETZ PRECISIONSMITH HAMMER - CHASING Chasing hammers are used to form basic shapes shapes in metal without thinning the metal. The hammers are rounded on the edges and highly polished. The hammer faces are also curved. They have become one of the most commonly used hammers at the workbench today. The Fretz Precisionsmith Chasing Hammer is small and very lightweight. It is only 8-1/2" long compared to the 9-1/2" of the standard Fretz Chasing hammer. The piston grip handle is just 1" x 3/4" at its widest. It weighs a mere 75 grams. Your delicate work will love this hammer. The head of the Fretz Chasing Hammer has been hardened to 50Rc; important since chasing requires blows of hammer against chasing tool.
