GS Shatter — Glass Shatter Effect for DaVinci Resolve & Fusion

A Realistic Glass-Shatter Effect for DaVinci Resolve & Fusion — With a Built-In Pseudo-3D Depth Dolly GS Shatter is a GPU-accelerated Voronoi shatter plugin for the DaVinci Resolve Fusion page that breaks any image or clip into realistic, beveled glass fragments that launch outward, tumble under gravity, and catch the light like real broken glass — not a flat, cut-out "shatter transition." Use it for impact hits, logo reveals, glitch-style breaks, glass-shatter transitions, and cinematic title destruction. YouTube Video How It Works GS Shatter scatters a set of Voronoi cells across your frame from an adjustable Impact Centre, then flies each shard outward under a fully custom gravity and animation-curve engine — all rendered natively on the GPU (CUDA, OpenCL, or Metal) so it stays fast even at high fragment counts. Key Features Voronoi Shard Break — Fragment count, spread, random seed, and Impact Centre are all adjustable, so no two shatters look the same. Animation Curve Engine — Nine built-in curve presets (Smooth, Ease In/Out, Snap, Anticipate, Overshoot, Elastic, Bounce) plus custom CSS-style Bezier handles and per-shard stagger, so the break can snap, bounce, or ease exactly how you want. Real Glass Shading — Per-shard bevel refraction, chromatic dispersion, and a tinted specular edge highlight make every fragment read as thick glass instead of a paper cut-out. A one-click Enable Refraction switch mutes the whole glass look instantly without losing your dialed-in settings. Gravity Z — Pseudo-3D Depth (New) — Gravity now has a third axis. Gravity Z, Depth Scatter, and Perspective Strength pull the shattered field toward or away from camera the way a DVE node's Z Position would, pivoting on the Impact Centre — giving a flat 2D image a genuinely three-dimensional shatter and dolly. Freeze System — Hold the shatter pose on any frame while the footage inside the glass keeps playing underneath — perfect for freeze-frame reveals and hero shots. Optional Matte Input — Feed in a matte to control exactly where the image is allowed to shatter. Cross-Platform GPU Kernel — One script, hand-tuned to render identically on Windows (CUDA/OpenCL), macOS (Metal/OpenCL), and Linux (OpenCL). Compatibility DaVinci Resolve 21 recommended for the smoothest, most stable experience with the latest Fusion engine. Works on both the FREE and Studio (paid) versions of DaVinci Resolve. GS Shatter is a native Fusion .fuse tool — not a restricted third-party OFX plugin — so it installs and runs the same way whether you're on the free version or DaVinci Resolve Studio. Runs on the Fusion page inside DaVinci Resolve (and in standalone Fusion Studio). Windows, macOS, and Linux. Who Is This For? GS Shatter is built for video editors, motion designers, and VFX artists working inside DaVinci Resolve's Fusion page who want a believable glass-break or shatter-apart effect without hand-building a Voronoi fracture from scratch. Great for intros, logo reveals, transitions, impact hits, and title sequences. Installation Drag the included installer.lua into the Fusion page node editor and it installs GS_Shatter.fuse straight into your Fusion Fuses folder — restart DaVinci Resolve and GS Shatter appears in your Effects Library under Fusion Tools. An Edit-page version is included separately as a .drfx for drag-and-drop use without opening the Fusion page. Licensed for personal and commercial project use by the original purchaser.
