Growth ~ Berkana Rune

The Norse Rune or "letter" featured on one side of my Runes is taken from a writing system called Elder Futhark. There are many explanations of this Norse writing system in both classical and popular literature. The image side of every Rune represents emotional attributes of its Nordic letter and are pictograms of my own creation. Each Rune description includes an etymological reference of historical origins well as modern meanings. There are a total of 24 Elder Futhark Runes. They can be divided into three groups of 8 runes each. Each group of 8 is called an “aett” which has an several underlying meanings that can be shared by all 8 runes within it. The additional insight from the Aett formation can help clarify individual rune interpretations. These beautiful, handmade Rune Charms are heavyweight, with deep carvings on both sides of the Rune. Each Rune comes with a jump ring large enough to thread on a chain.  The one shown is the  2.2mm Square Cable Chain. Runes are solid Sterling Silver and measure approximately 5/8" high x 7/16" wide x 3/32" deep.
