Brace Yourself and Confess

In Brace Yourself and Confess, Andrius Miezis presents a surreal and humorous yet deeply psychological portrait of self-confrontation. The figure stands stout and compact, its fists clenched as though bracing for impact - or perhaps for truth. Its body, patterned with black-and-white tessellations, becomes a ground where emotion and absurdity intertwine. The head resembles a cosmic cabinet: planets, galaxies, and a bright red heart orbit within its skull, suggesting an interior universe of thoughts and feelings on the verge of spilling out. The face is assembled from geometric and organic fragments, forming a collage of logic and impulse, reason and confession. Miezis transforms the act of confession into something cosmic and comic. Here, guilt and wonder coexist - the vastness of the universe compressed into a single, awkward body preparing to tell the truth. The result is both funny and tender, a reminder that honesty, however absurd, is one of the most human acts of all.
