Green Tower Austrian Pine Tree

Ideal for smaller spaces with fastigiate growth This striking evergreen offers a unique solution for those looking to enhance their landscape without overwhelming it. The ‘Green Tower’ variety of Pinus nigra boasts a strongly fastigiate habit, which means it grows tall and narrow, making it perfect for tighter spots in your garden. Its lush, long dark green needles give it a soft, inviting look that contrasts beautifully with the structure of its sturdy branches. Notably, these branches are resilient, able to withstand the burden of snow and ice, making this tree not just beautiful, but also practical for various climates. Incorporating this beautiful specimen into your yard will provide vertical interest, serving as an eye-catching focal point. Its tall and narrow form can enhance the height of your garden without taking up too much ground space, making it an excellent choice for small gardens, narrow borders, or even as a privacy screen. By planting this tree, you add year-round greenery to your landscape, ensuring that it looks alive and welcoming all year long. Planting & Care 1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Remove the stake and ties at planting, as these are only for shipping. Choose a location that receives full sun and well-drained soil. Dig a hole twice as big as the rootball and as deep.  Place the tree in the center and backfill with a mix of native soil and compost.  Spread a 3 inch layer of mulch 3 feet around the tree, pulling the mulch back a few inches from the trunk. Water deeply after planting. 2. Watering: Water 2-3 times a week for the first growing season and 1-2 times a week the second growing season.  Water deeply during times of drought to keep the tree in best health. 3. Pruning: Prune lightly to maintain its elegant shape and remove any dead or damaged branches during late winter or early spring before new growth begins. 4. Fertilizing: Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring to promote healthy growth. Follow package instructions for dosage, and avoid over-fertilizing to prevent harm to the tree.
