Green Toilet Compact Lux

The Green Toilet Compact Lux is a waterless toilet built for real bathrooms — not outhouses. A genuine porcelain seat sits in your bathroom exactly where a normal toilet would, and it looks and feels like one. The only real difference: no flush. A sealed composting bin sits directly below, in the space under your floor, and a straight vertical chute carries everything from the seat down into it. Odor control that truly works This is a completely odorless system, and it gets there two ways. Inside the bin, a perforated base plate lets solids collect on top while excess liquid drains through to a reservoir below, with its own outlet and hose for draining or collection. A small electric fan continuously pulls air out through the bin’s vent pipe, while a separate air inlet feeds the bin its own fresh air — so it never draws air from your bathroom. That same base plate does double duty: its legs stay in contact with the liquid pooling below, so the compost absorbs moisture back up as needed. The result is a self-regulating balance — never too wet, never too dry — which is exactly the condition compost needs to break down properly and stay odor-free. Built around an easy bin swap The system ships with two composting bins. When one fills with solid waste, servicing it takes minutes: unclip it, disconnect the liquid hose (a cap keeps it from dripping while you work), and pull the bin straight out from under its lid — the lid itself stays attached to the chute, so nothing else needs to move. Slide the empty bin into place, reconnect, and let the full one sit outside undisturbed to finish composting. Sturdy handles and detachable wheels make the bin easy to carry or roll wherever it needs to go. Sized to fit your space The bin’s standard height is 20.5 in (520 mm), and it can be trimmed down in the field in roughly 2 in (50 mm) steps to 18.5 in (470 mm) or 16.5 in (420 mm) — so it fits crawl spaces as shallow as 16.5 in. The taller you can go, the longer between services, so we recommend keeping the full 20.5 in height whenever your space allows it. For households that need more capacity, additional bins can be added to the same system. Built for every season The Green Toilet Compact Lux is designed for year-round use, including cold climates. Composting naturally slows in freezing weather and can pause entirely through a hard winter — that doesn’t stop the toilet from working, it simply means the bin’s contents will resume breaking down once things thaw. The bin’s matte black finish helps it absorb heat, and in colder regions we recommend setting a frozen bin out in the sun come spring to help it along. In climates with real winters, plan on a full summer season of composting before a bin is finished; in warmer climates, it happens faster. Two seat options The porcelain toilet is available in two versions: a standard, non-diverting toilet where everything goes down through one opening into the bin, or a urine-diverting toilet, where solid waste and paper still drop straight into the bin while liquid is caught and channeled separately. Which one makes sense depends on your climate, your setup, and local rules around handling liquid waste — we’re happy to talk through which is the better fit for your situation. Made in Finland The Green Toilet Compact Lux is manufactured in Finland from durable LLDPE, and sold in the United States exclusively through Waterless Toilet Shop.
