GREEN SQUARES | 2018

"Green Squares" marks an early exploration of my fascination with white charcoal, resulting in a masterpiece that exudes a sense of discovery and celebration. This compact yet captivating painting, with its subtly rich earth tones, invites viewers into a world reminiscent of a treasure trove—like a meticulously curated jewelry box where each tiny abstract square holds its own narrative, waiting to be unraveled on a larger canvas. During my artistic journey, a pivotal moment came when I transitioned from black charcoal to white. Observing how detailed areas became enveloped in darkness with black charcoal, I discovered the profound impact of its opposite—white charcoal. This revelation introduced a refreshing lightness, akin to stumbling upon serendipitous innovations that redefine artistic boundaries. Now, over a decade later, the 'shapes' series stands as a testament to ongoing exploration and evolution. "Green Squares" embodies the spirit of discovery, inviting viewers to embark on a journey of artistic exploration and innovation. Let this painting bring a touch of curiosity and celebration into your collection, capturing the essence of a continuous quest for new horizons.
