They will look especially stunning in a planted tank. These fish are adult shrimp-safe, however, we recommend having sufficient plants or hiding spots for aquariums with both Neon Tetras and freshwater shrimp.  Neon Tetras are pretty easy to care as long as they are introduced to a mature, cycled tank.
