Green Heron Art Print

From afar, the Green Heron is a dark, stocky bird scooched on slender yellow legs at the water’s edge, often obscured by a tangle of greenery. When seen up close, you can see its striking velvet-green back, rich chestnut body, and a dark cap often raised into a short crest. These small herons crouch patiently to surprise fish with a quick snatch of their sharp bill. They occasionally bait fish to come closer using small twigs or insects.  Source: Cornell Lab of Ornithology
