SunSparkler Blue Pearl Stonecrop

SunSparkler Blue Pearl Stonecrop (Sedum hybrid 'Blue Pearl')SunSparkler Blue Pearl Stonecrop brings bold, cool-toned foliage to sunny beds and keeps its color steady through heat and summer stress. The low, spreading habit fills gaps fast and creates a clean, finished look along edges and between larger perennials. In late summer, hot pink flower clusters rise above the blue foliage and keep the planting lively into early fall. This is a practical, waterwise option for well-drained landscapes where you want high contrast without high maintenance. Distinctive FeaturesThis compact sedum forms a dense, mounding groundcover of plum-blue to blue-gray succulent leaves that hold their color better than many stonecrops through the hottest part of the season. Sturdy stems support showy, flat-topped clusters of bright pink flowers in late summer to fall, offering strong pollinator value when many gardens need a boost. In mild winters it can stay evergreen or semi-evergreen, extending its foliage impact beyond the main growing season. The overall habit stays tidy and controlled when grown in full sun and fast-draining soil. Growing Conditions Sun: Full sun is best for the deepest foliage color and strongest growth, with partial sun tolerated. Soil: Provide well-drained soil, including sandy or gravelly mixes, and avoid heavy, consistently wet sites. Water: Water to establish, then keep to dry to medium moisture, allowing soil to dry between waterings. USDA Zones: Hardy in USDA Zones 4 to 9 in typical garden conditions. Mature Size: Typically grows about 6 to 8 inches tall and spreads about 14 to 18 inches wide. Ideal Uses Focal Point: Use a concentrated patch as a low focal point where the blue foliage and hot pink blooms can stand out against stone or mulch. Groundcover: Mass plant to knit sunny beds together with dense coverage and strong, cool color. Rock Gardens: Tuck into gravel and rock settings where drainage is fast and foliage contrast matters. Containers: Plant near the edge of pots to add rich blue foliage and late-season color in a compact footprint. Edging: Line paths and bed fronts for a clean, low border that stays tidy with minimal trimming. Low Maintenance Care Pruning: Shear lightly after flowering or in early spring to refresh growth and keep edges crisp. Fertilizing: Skip heavy feeding, because lean conditions promote tighter growth and stronger color. Watering: Once established, water only during extended drought to maintain vigor and bloom quality. Winter Cleanup: Leave flower heads for seasonal texture, then tidy in late winter to early spring before new growth starts. Propagation: Expand plantings easily by rooting small stem pieces in well-drained soil. Why Choose SunSparkler Blue Pearl Stonecrop?
