Grateful Dead - Go To Heaven

Go to Heaven (1980) finds the Grateful Dead hitting the ’80s with a mischievous grin and surprising polish. Released on Arista Records and produced by Gary Lyons, it introduced Brent Mydland’s soulful vocals and synth sheen into the mix, lighting up tracks like “Alabama Getaway,” “Althea,” and “Saint of Circumstance.” Beneath the clean white suits of the cover art lies a sly, confident band that knew exactly who they were—and how to have fun doing it. Go to Heaven is the Dead winking at the mainstream while still playing by nobody’s rules but their own.
