Primo Grate Lifter

The Primo Grate Lifter hooks a hot cooking grate and lifts it clear of the grill. That is a small job with a large payoff, because everything underneath the grate becomes unreachable the moment the fire is lit, and mid-cook you often need to get down there. Adding a chunk of wood for smoke, spreading coals that have burned unevenly, or dropping in a deflector partway through a cook all mean moving a grate that is hot and usually still loaded. Tongs and a folded towel do it badly. A lifter gives you two hooked points of contact and a handle far enough back to keep your forearms out of the opening. It belongs alongside the Primo Curved Ash Tool, which handles what is left after the fire goes out, and the Primo Grate and Deflector Lifting Tool if you also want to move hot deflector plates and racks. Fits any grill in Primo ceramic charcoal grills, and the rest of the range is in Primo grill accessories.
