Ice Dance Sedge Grass

Looking for a timeless addition to your water, rain or woodland garden or need to create a shady border? The Ice Dance Sedge Grass (Carex morrowii 'Ice Dance') delivers big time with showy white and green glossy variegated foliage! The Ice Dance Sedge grows naturally into a symmetrical arching mound and spreads slowly to generously cover the ground with minimal effort. Showy leaves are edged in a sharp pinstripe of creamy white, creating a visual spectacle that you really have to see to believe! Forming spreading tufts of variegated foliage, these heat and humidity-tolerant and moisture-loving Grasses grow just 12 - 15 inches tall and wide throughout USDA growing zones 5 to 9, handling more cold than other variegated Sedge Grass. Landscape Application: Ice Dance Sedge is a superb edging plant for damp, shady spots in your yard. It works especially well in damp areas, making it a top choice for those troublesome spots in your lawn where there always seems to be too much moisture, or for planting around a Rain Garden, spa, pool, or pond to add a kick of color and fun. This is a wonderful plant for the edge of your woodland garden path as it slips in and out of shade. Or use the Ice Dance Sedge to create a stir of excitement along a pathway by planting multiples and creating a bold border. Spreading by way of underground rhizomes, Sedge creates easy groupings and mass plantings to fill your garden in icy white and green! People will definitely take note of this charming Sedge, but it can also play a supporting role in dramatic large-leaved plants such as Empress Wu Hosta or Little Rocket Leopard Plant. Place it in front of Bleeding Heart, Coral Bells, or Astilbe as a lush, yet tidy partner. The possibilities with this versatile Sedge really are unlimited, which is largely the reason that the Ice Dance Sedge has become such a garden favorite.
