Grass Carp

Nature's most effective aquatic weed control: a chemical-free, low-maintenance solution for overgrown ponds and lakes. The triploid grass carp is the most widely used and most effective biological solution for aquatic vegetation management in private ponds and lakes. A voracious herbivore, a single grass carp can consume several times its own body weight in aquatic vegetation every day, quietly and efficiently working through problem weeds like hydrilla, milfoil, pondweed, and filamentous algae without chemicals, machinery, or repeated costly treatments. Our grass carp are certified triploid, meaning they are sterile and cannot reproduce. This gives pond owners complete control over their fishery without any risk of an uncontrolled population taking over. They are fast-growing, long-lived, and remarkably hardy, often reaching 20–40 lbs or more over the course of their lives. For pond managers looking for a clean, sustainable, and proven alternative to herbicides, triploid grass carp are the answer. In Texas grass carp are a controlled species and will require a permit to possess.  Stocking Rates 5-7 per acre
