Gränsfors Bruk Hand Hatchet

Hand-Forged Hand Hatchet from Sweden The Gränsfors Bruk Hand Hatchet is built for the rucksack and the car trunk as much as the woodpile. At 9.4" and 1.3 lbs, its handle is short relative to the size of the head, keeping the whole tool compact and easy to stow on forest walks or in a car. Despite the short handle, it fells small trees and splits kindling and firewood easily. How to Use It Swedish recycled high-carbon steel holds an edge through repeated use, cutting cleanly through wood up to the thickness of small trees. The shorter handle shifts the balance toward the head, giving each swing more control and less reach to manage in tight spaces. The included leather sheath covers the edge and the top of the poll, protecting both the blade and the inside of a rucksack. Keep the edge sharp in the field with the natural whetstone, designed to match the same bevel. Forged Since 1902 Each camping axe has been forged by hand in the small Swedish town of Gränsfors since 1902. Each axe head is hand-stamped with the smith's initials, a personal mark from the person who shaped and sharpened it. The axe comes with a leather sheath and the axe book, backed by a 20-year warranty.  Browse more pieces from the Axes and Mauls collection.
