Gran Centenario Gallardo Extra Anejo Tequila

Gran Centenario Gallardo Extra Añejo is a statement-level, ultra-smooth sipping tequila that leans luxuriously dessert-toned—vanilla, oak, ripe orchard fruit, and a polished wine-cask elegance—without losing its agave backbone. Its prestige is reinforced by its inclusion in the New York International Spirits Competition’s 2025 “Top 20 Tequilas of the Year” list, placing Gallardo among the year’s standout performers in a major trade-buyer–judged field. Origins & Craftsmanship Gallardo is Gran Centenario’s limited-edition Extra Añejo, built around a meticulous reserve selection and a layered barrel program that prioritizes silk texture and refined complexity. The tequila is aged for over 3 years in oak—including new American and French oak—then refined/finished in Bordeaux casks, a finishing touch that contributes a subtle red-fruit polish and a more “fine-spirit” cadence on the palate. The house describes a profile anchored by vanilla and oak aromatics, with flavors that evoke banana, fig, apple, nuts, and red fruits, culminating in a long, smooth finish—a clear signal that this extra añejo is designed first and foremost for slow, neat sipping. Critics Reviews Gran Centenario Gallardo is named to the New York International Spirits Competition 2025 “Top 20 Tequilas of the Year” list—an elite placement that highlights it as one of the year’s top-recognized tequilas in blind judging by trade buyers. At the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) 2025, Gran Centenario Gallardo Extra Añejo received a Silver medal (90 points), with the IWSC tasting panel noting rich agave and toasted sherry-spice aromas, plus a balanced palate showing dark plum, liquorice, coffee sweetness, and lots of vanilla. Tasting Profile Nose: Prominent vanilla and oak up front, followed by a richer, darker layer that reads like sherry-spice warmth and polished sweetness. Fruit notes suggest fig and ripe orchard tones, with a subtle floral lift. Palate: Silky and composed—sweet oak and vanilla frame agave richness, then widen into dark-fruit nuance (plum), a hint of liquorice, and a gentle coffee-like sweetness. The Bordeaux-cask refinement shows as a glossy, red-fruit polish rather than overt wine character. Finish: Long, smooth, and luxuriously tapered—vanilla and oak linger with soft spice and a faint fruit echo that keeps the close elegant rather than drying.
