Graft Cactus 'Red'

Botanical Name: Gymnocalycium mihanovichii var. friedrichii "Rubra" graft Common Names: Ruby ball, Red Cap cactus Description: Graft Cactus in a small pot has a unique vibrant red color at the top. Popular for anyone looking for a colorful easy-care succulent. It is the result of grafting two different species of cactus together in a nursery in Japan. The top part, the scion, can't live on its own due to its lack of chlorophyll, so caring for this succulent requires consideration of both the rootstock and the scion. Intolerant to bright sunlight and colder temperatures, place in shaded spots. If the rootstock begins growing another branch, immediately prune it, as the scion will lose nutrients.
