Grace and Gumption

The color turquoise, like the gemstone, is associated with clarity of thought, emotional balance, and creativity. The combination of this energy with the bold, unapologetic lavishness of royal purple, support the wearer of this crown in cultivating quiet strength. This is for the queen who no longer wants to raise her voice to get her needs met. Instead, her compassionate nobility inspires enthusiastic devotion, freeing her up to focus on the macro, knowing that the micro is being taken care of. This wrap is also double-sided. On days where you need to feel more powerful, let the diamond-laden purple side show more. On days that demand more open-mindedness, turquoise is your friend. This authentic Ankara print fabric is made of 100% cotton. It was printed via the wax- resist method that originated in Indonesia and was industrialized by Dutch manufacturers of African prints in the mid-nineteenth century. Traditionally, Batik fabrics were created by hand-painting intricate designs onto cloth using beeswax. Colors were then added to the design and the waxed areas would “resist” the penetration of the dye. When the wax was removed, the patterns were revealed. The modernized process utilizes digital printing and the uses of wax, during and after printing, vary. Some of our Ghanaian-sourced fabrics are quite stiff, while the softer ones have no trace of wax at all. The wax on Grace and Gumption is subtle. On a scale of 1-10 for stiffness, Grace and Gumption is at a 9. Pantone Colors: Parachute Purple 19-3731, Tropical Green 18-4930,  Bright White 11-0601  Material: Cotton Size: 1 yard
