Gopher Basket

If you've ever dug up a beautiful plant only to discover that hungry gophers got there first, you'll appreciate these sturdy Grow-Mate™ Gopher Baskets. Made from durable galvanized wire mesh, they create a simple physical barrier that gives young roots a fighting chance while still allowing water, air, and roots to move naturally through the soil. Just place your plant inside the basket at planting time, backfill, and let the basket do the hard work underground. It's an easy bit of insurance for prized perennials, shrubs, vegetables, fruit trees, and native plants in areas where burrowing pests are an unwelcome part of gardening. The open mesh encourages healthy root development while creating a physical barrier that helps protect roots from hungry gophers and other tunneling critters. Available in three convenient sizes, there's a Grow-Mate basket for everything from small starter plants to larger landscape additions. The Mini is ideal for small perennials and young starts, the 5 Gallon size is perfect for most nursery containers, and the roomy 15 Gallon basket accommodates larger shrubs and young trees. Strong enough to provide lasting protection yet easy to install, they're a smart investment that can save years of growing time—and plenty of gardening heartbreak.
